In Paris on Friday, January 17, strikers against pension reform blocked the entrance to the Louvre. As a result, the museum announced that it would be closed until the end of the day.

According to Le Figaro, the strikers, museum employees, gathered at 8.45 in the Louvre pyramid, blocking the entrance.

“It was physically impossible to get into the museum”, – the Louvre administration explained its decision to announce the closure before the end of the day.

This is the first time since the beginning of the current strike against pension reform, when the Louvre was forced to close due to protests.
