A spokesman for the Iraqi government, William Warda, said the cabinet will support the decision of the Iraqi parliament to withdraw foreign troops from the country. It is reported by CNN.
“The Iraqi government is ready to implement the decision of the Iraqi parliament, which states that all foreign troops should be withdrawn from Iraq. Foreign troops mean not only the US military, but also the military personnel of other countries in Iraq”, – he said.
Earlier, the US President Donald Trump said that in the event of the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Baghdad must pay Washington for the construction of military bases and embassies on the territory of this state. Along with this, he threatened Iraq with sanctions.
On January 5, the Iraqi parliament voted to withdraw foreign troops from the state.
