During his trip to Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the personnel for the fight against international terrorism, and stated that peaceful life in Syria was gradually improving, largely thanks to the actions of our group of forces, Army Minister Sergei Shoigu stated at a conference call.
Shoigu recalled that on January 7, the Supreme Commander traveled to Damascus, where, together with the Syrian President, he visited the command post of the Russian group.
“During the negotiations, it was noted that peaceful life in the country was gradually improving. The actions of our group of forces contributed to this in many respects. The President thanked the personnel for the exemplary accomplishment of the tasks in the fight against international terrorism”, – the Minister said.
The head of the military department also thanked everyone who was on alert on holidays.
