Iran gave Ukrainian experts access to the black boxes and wreckage of the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) liner, which crashed near Tehran, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Pristayko said on Friday.
“We got access to both the details of the aircraft and to the crash site… Now our team has gained access to the black boxes, we plan to begin reconstruction of negotiations in the near future. We also got access to the records of dispatchers from the flight control center at Tehran airport and our pilots”, – said Priestayko at a briefing. The broadcast was conducted by the Ukrainian TV channel Nash.
He noted that the Ukrainian side is considering all versions and “does not recline any of the versions” of the causes of the crash.
On January 8, the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737 crashed a few minutes after taking off from Tehran Airport. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Pristayko, 176 people were killed: citizens of Afghanistan, Germany, Iran, Canada and Ukraine, as well as citizens of Great Britain and Sweden. A number of Western leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, said that the crash of the plane could have occurred due to a missile hit, Iranian officials rejected this possibility. The head of the Iranian civil aviation organization called such allegations “completely irrational”. He also refuted information that rocket parts were found near the wreckage of the aircraft.
