Even the short-term non-interference of the United States in the affairs of the Middle East leads to the fact that regional countries find common ground for constructive diplomacy.
The founder of the National Iranian-American Council, Trita Parsi, said this in a publication for the publication Foreign Policy.
So, he recalled that over the past decade, the United States has been entertaining itself with the false idea that it is America that brings peace and prosperity to the Middle East. The same approach implies that without American intervention, the region will quickly plunge into chaos. However, according to Parsi, the facts suggest otherwise.
As an example, he cited last year’s situation with a blow to oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Then the US administration hastily blamed Tehran for the incident, despite the lack of evidence. At the same time, the matter didn’t go further than the accusations, there was no military reaction from the United States, just as the chaos promised by Washington’s policy did not arise. Moreover, this provided the countries of the region with the opportunity to personally begin to resolve conflicts, moreover, peacefully.
Trump declared war, which he promised to avoid – in the United States stated that Middle Eastern stability died along with Suleimani
Parsi pointed out that Riyadh was able to conduct direct negotiations with Yemeni rebels, to ensure de-escalation of tension in relations with Iran, and also took the path of rapprochement with Qatar. The peculiarity is that all this happened in the absence of American “support”, the expert emphasizes. At the same time, during the periods of Washington’s active intervention in Arabian politics, the kingdom was only engaged in “propagandizing terrorism and conducting destabilizing activities in the region”.
Now the Middle East is again on the verge of war, and again the United States is to blame, Parsi continues, referring to the assassination of Iranian general Kassem Suleimani. He does not exclude the possibility that Tehran may suspect a conspiracy between the United States, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to commit this provocation. And US allies, in turn, may regard Washington’s actions as a “right to insanity”, such as the murder of journalist Jamal Hashkaji in 20118 or the abduction of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri a year earlier.
“In other words, as always, it seems that the immersion of the Middle East in chaos is much more likely with US participation than without it”, – concluded Trita Parsi.
As News Front previously reported, the American armed forces carried out a resonant and extremely provocative attack, the victim of which was the commander of the elite Iranian unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Al-Quds Kassem Suleimani. The blow was inflicted by personal order of President Donald Trump, allegedly with the aim of “protecting US personnel abroad”.
In response, Iranian forces attacked US military installations in Iraq. The operation was called the “Martyr Soleimani”. As a result of the attack, several fighters were damaged. According to some reports, several aircraft were destroyed. At the same time, Donald Trump said that there were no casualties from the incident.
