State Duma assessed consequences of US aggressive policy towards Iran

Because of Washington’s aggressive policy, Tehran will seek to create nuclear weapons, the United States itself is pushing Iran to withdraw from the nuclear deal, said Alexander Sherin, first deputy chairman of the State Duma’s defense committee.

Earlier, Iran announced the rejection of “the last key limitation in the nuclear deal regarding the number of centrifuges” calling this step “the last one”.

“Of course, what happened is entirely the fault of (the US President) Donald Trump, and this is not only a blow to the military command of Iran in Iraq, it’s also a way out of this deal more than a year ago”, – Sherin told the reporters.

He also mentioned the dependence of the state from obtaining nuclear weapons:

“In general, many states, in particular Iran, are pushed by the multimillion-dollar, billion-dollar costs of obtaining nuclear weapons solely thanks to the activities of the United States. That is, the number of countries that would be so powerful in their efforts and try to create and obtain their own nuclear weapons would be much less if it wouldn’t be an aggressive and unpredictable US policy”, – the deputy said.

He noted that in every country there is a desire to spend money exclusively on social needs and the development of the economy and industry, but they have to spend money on strengthening their defense capabilities in order to protect themselves from the unpredictable and aggressive policies of the United States.

“In principle, the deal the United States pulled into and secured the deal from Iran, they left the deal. Undoubtedly, this will lead to tension in the situation. Now Iran’s hands are completely untied. I think it’s difficult to make them to convince even future presidents of the United States that you can trust the leadership of the United States, sit down at the negotiating table and conclude some kind of agreement, sign some kind of agreement”, – the parliamentarian said.
