The US President Donald Trump on Thursday called on the Russian Federation, Syria and Iran not to take action that could lead to the deaths of civilians in the Syrian province of Idlib.
“Russia, Syria and Iran are already killing or are going to kill thousands of innocent citizens in the province of Idlib. Do not do this!”, – Trump tweeted.
Moreover, in his opinion, “Turkey is making every effort to stop the massacre”.
An interesting situation is obtained: on the one hand, the United States gathered to withdraw troops, because terrorists have already been defeated, on the other hand, it’s no secret that after more than 8 years of war, the province of Idlib and the surrounding areas remain a key stronghold of radical militants in Syria, while it has been repeatedly reported that it is the States that support the militants in the region. The question arises: for what purpose is the US calling to refrain from another military operation in the militant congestion zone?
As News Front previously reported, the Syrian military demonstrated weapons and ammunition seized in the warehouses of terrorists in the Syrian provinces of Derya, Homs and Damascus. Among the trophies there are hundreds of weapons, thousands of pieces of ammunition, anti-aircraft installations of communications and the latest equipment. Something the terrorists had not yet unpacked, so it’s easy to determine from the factory packaging where the weapons came from in the ATS. The militants are supplied with them by the United States and NATO member countries.
And another surprising fact – Trump is trying to discredit the actions of Russia and official Damascus on the same day as the Syrian authorities concluded contracts with two Russian oil companies for the exploration of oil fields on the Syrian section of the Mediterranean shelf. At the same time, the United States has been illegally pumping oil on Syrian lands for a long time, attracting “pocket” Kurdish radicals representing the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) for these purposes. Thus, America once again admitted defeat.
But what turned out to be so not nice Iran? Why was he also ranked with the brutal “killers and looters” – the government of Assad and the Kremlin? And why did the selfish American president suddenly begin to block Turkey?
Despite the fact that in recent years Turkey and Iran love to demonstrate a good level of relations within the framework of the tactical alliance they have formed, in the expert environment they are in no hurry to make allies from two regional players. It is possible that as the civil conflict in Syria ends, the contradictions between Turkey and Iran will only intensify.
The military leadership of the Republic of Turkey regularly conducts air strikes on PKK positions in Iraq, and also organizes raids against members of this organization on its territory. The Pentagon is trying to distance itself from evaluating such operations, however, given the total failure of the US strategy on all fronts, from counteracting the development of the Nord Stream-2 project, ending with the “fight against terrorism”, which they themselves engendered, the States have no choice but to try to make friends with changeable Turkey.
It should be recalled that although Turkey, at the direction of the United States, is negotiating with Russia to end hostilities in the Syrian province of Idlib, it is purchasing the S-400 air defense system from Russia. According to Sputnik, the test of the S-400 in Turkey is a blow to the reputation of the US aviation industry. And nobody canceled the construction of the Turkish Stream.
