In France, machine operators continue to strike despite the holidays

In the Ile-de-France, subway traffic remains difficult.

Around 40% of the French National Railways Society (SNCF) machine operators continue their strike against pension reform despite the Christmas holidays. This was reported on Thursday by France Presse agency, citing the company data.

The SNCF noted that the number of strikers currently stands at about 10% of transporters.

“The strike is attended by 42.1% of drivers, 24% of controllers and 13.8% of dispatchers”, – said the SNCF, adding that “in recent days there has been a decline in the total number of striking SNCF workers”.

According to the data published on Twitter by the SNCF, 50% of TGV high-speed trains and 20% of Transilien suburban trains run on Thursday. Also, only 40% of regional TER trains have entered the flights.

Train traffic in the Ile de France metropolitan area is still difficult. According to the Paris Autonomous Transport Authority (RATP), five of the 16 lines remain closed. Passengers can only access fully automated lines 1 and 14, as well as lines 3, 4, 7, 8 and 10, which also operate on a truncated schedule on Thursday.
