Syrian terrorists suffer losses – a base is cleared in Idlib For several days, a fierce confrontation unfolds in the Idlib de-escalation zone between the Syrian Arab army and armed gangs.
As News Front previously reported, the cause of the escalation of the conflict was the attacks of militants of the terrorist groups Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, Ansar at-Tauhid and Khurras ad-Din. The attacks occurred on Friday night. Government forces managed to repel the blow, but as a result of the confrontation, 17 servicemen were killed, 42 were injured. Following this, the Syrian Arab army went on the offensive, pushing the militants back.
The 25th division, consisting of fighters of the elite unit of the Tiger Force, as well as the 4th and 7th mechanized divisions, participate in the offensive operation. Air support is provided by the Aerospace Forces of Russia. According to the latest data, government troops were able to clean out about twenty settlements from southeast Idlib from jihadists. Among them are Tahtay, Al-Burj, Tel al-Homsi, Farwan, Al-Khraki and Al-Frat.
In addition, during heavy clashes, SAA units managed to drive the Islamists out of At-Takh, which militants used as a base. According to the SANA agency, the militants of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham suffered serious losses during the confrontation.
