According to French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Mer, Washington’s intention to impose duties of $ 2.4 billion does not correspond to how the union state should behave.
“Yesterday we contacted the European Commission to ensure that if new sanctions are imposed (Washington) will be given a European response, a strong answer”, – said Le Mayor.
Le Mayor said the “digital taxation” system – a new three percent tax on products of the largest US IT companies (Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google), which the French parliament passed in the summer – is not discriminatory against American companies.
