France: Activists block the movement due to “Black Friday”

Protesters laid out bales of straw and old refrigerators, washing machines and stoves to keep dozens of trucks out.

In France, on “black Friday”, climate activists protested against excessive consumption near the logistics centers of large companies, according to Le Monde on Friday, November 29.

A day earlier, protesters blocked access to the logistics center of the American company Amazon in the city of Bretigny-sur-Orge.

Activists laid out bales of straw and old refrigerators, washing machines and stoves to keep dozens of trucks out of the huge site of 150 thousand square meters recently opened in this city.

They continue to protest and try to prevent the center’s employees from working. Activists see Black Friday as a symbol of excessive consumption, because of the big discounts that day people buy things, even if they don’t need them.
