The United States regularly expressed concern about the Iranian nuclear program, Iran’s support for terrorism and the country’s violation of human rights, now that Iran is protesting, the United States has decided to unexpectedly support people’s desire to express their own thoughts and condemn the actions of the country’s leadership. As they say, we will not notice a speck in our eye, but in a stranger’s one we can see a log.
The protest rallies swept at least 40 cities and every day everything is gaining strength. What began with the usual protest against rising fuel prices now turns into regular anti-government demonstrations. Apparently, the protests take on a political character.
Iranian police and security forces took part in the crackdown on demonstrations in Tehran and a dozen other major cities on Saturday, Iranian news agencies and social media users said. Reports say protesters across the country chanted anti-government slogans.
Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said in an interview with state television that demonstrators blocking roads and resisting security forces “certainly” enjoy support from abroad.
An interesting statement that has a place to be. How did simple protests against price increases turn into what we have now, and most importantly – who benefits? The answer is simple – the USA. The economic situation in Iran has deteriorated significantly since last year, when the United States withdrew from the international “nuclear deal” and again began to apply sanctions against Tehran due to violations of the terms of this agreement. Since May of this year, the United States has a goal: to see a regime change in Tehran. It is worth noting that while they are able to go to this goal.
According to Reva Goujon, Vice President of global analysis for the Stratfor analytical campaign, the US administration would like to return Iran to the negotiation table to revise the “nuclear agreement”, but on its own terms, which, accordingly, is not beneficial for Tehran, and also hopes that the economic difficulties resulting from the sanctions in the country could lead to a change of government. This is what happens.
And what do we see today? The White House issues an official statement supporting the protests of the Iranian people and condemns the government for suppressing them:
“The United States supports the Iranian people in their peaceful protests against the regime that should have led it. We condemn the use of fatal force and severe restrictions on communications, used against demonstrators”, – the US White House report said.
