More than 18 thousand refugees were removed from the Rukban camp in Syria thanks to the actions of the Syrian government and Russian assistance, said Yuri Borenkov, Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties and the control over the movement of refugees.
“As of November 14 of this year, 18 thousand 270 refugees left the Rukban camp, of which 3 thousand 897 men, 5 thousand 222 women and 9 thousand 151 children”, – Borenkov said at a joint meeting of the interagency coordination headquarters of Russia and Syria on the return of refugees to the territory of the SAR in Moscow.
He noted that the conditions created by the Syrian government contribute to the return of refugees to their homes.
