Great Europe does not exist without Russia, said the mayor of the French Montpellier

Great Europe does not exist without Russia, said the mayor of the French city of Montpellier Philippe Saurel at the ceremony in the Kremlin awards to Russian and foreign citizens.

“On this momentous day, the day of national unity, I think that there is no Great Europe without Russia”, –  he said.

Saurel noted that he always acted in the name of truth, which concerns victory in the Second World War, the Battle of Stalingrad.

“And we also wanted to restore the truth about space exploration, because the Russians were the first, it was cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. We installed a copy of the monument in Montpellier and opened the bridge named after Yuri Gagarin. This is our joint initiative with the twin city of Obninsky and Kaluga region”, – said the mayor.
