The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced the need to resolve local conflicts in the region

Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim said the need to resolve local and international conflicts in order to avoid war in the region was relevant.

“We still face serious challenges. Local and international conflicts reign in our region, which can lead to war if we can’t solve it. The war can spread to the entire region”, – the diplomat said at the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku.

“We reject interference in the internal affairs of other countries. We believe in the principles of our movement”, – he stressed.

The 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement opened on Friday in the capital of Azerbaijan. The organization includes 120 countries that have refused to participate in military blocs. Among the guests of honor there are Presidents of Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and Turkmenistan, and in general, 158 countries have confirmed their participation.
