Police carry out a special operation in the South of France

Police are conducting a special operation in the commune of Saint-Raphael in the Var department in southern France, according to a law enforcement account on Twitter.

“The police operation on Vieille-Eglise Street in Saint-Raphael. Movement is difficult. Avoid this area. Please do not interfere with the work of the police and do not pick up false information”,  – the message says.

According to France Bleu, the reason for the intervention of the police was at least one person who made his way to the archaeological museum of the town and locked up there. It is reported that “excitement” inscriptions in Arabic were found at the site, “which say about the museum and about hell”. The alarm was raised on Wednesday morning by a museum cleaner who tried to get to work, but the museum’s front door was locked from the inside.

According to the newspaper Parisien, to date there is no information about whether the person in the museum is armed.
