Over 1.2 thousand people came back to Syria from Lebanon and Jordan over the past day, according to the newsletter of the Russian center for reconciliation of warring parties and monitoring the movement of refugees, published on the website of the Ministry of Defense.
“Over the past day, 1211 refugees returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territories of foreign states, including the ones from Lebanon through the checkpoints “Jade-Yabus”, “Tell-Kalah”- 406 people (women – 122, children – 207), from Jordan through the Nasib checkpoint – 805 people (242 women, 411 children)”, – the report said.
It is noted that five residential buildings, a kindergarten, a bakery and an electrical substation were restored per day. Syrian Armed Forces engineering units cleared 2.3 hectares of land, and also discovered and destroyed 28 explosive objects.
The armed conflict in Syria has been ongoing since 2011. At the end of 2017, a victory was announced over the ISIS* terrorist group in Syria and Iraq. In some areas of the country, stripping from militants continues. At the moment, a political settlement, the restoration of Syria, and the return of refugees are in the forefront.
