The Russian and Mongolian Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Khaltmaagiin Battulga, have signed a new Treaty on Friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and Mongolia. The meeting took place at the Government Palace in Ulan Bator.

The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Mongolia was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet and Mongolian troops over the Japanese aggressors on Khalkhin Gol.

Putin invited the President of Mongolia to Moscow to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and he agreed. Also, the President of Mongolia Battulug will take part in the work of the Eastern Economic Forum as an honored guest. The forum starts on September 4th.

Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia and Mongolia will jointly implement new projects, in particular, in the mining industry, energy, and the agricultural industry.

All these projects will be financed by the Russian-Mongolian Investment Cooperation Fund. This fund will be created by the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Mongolian financial institutions.
