France, China Re-Endorsed Iran Deal

France’s and China’s heads of states reaffirmed their support for the nuclear deal they signed with Iran.

French President Emmanuel Macron at a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, in Paris on Monday said that the two would support the deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), according to Sputnik website.

The deal was signed in 2015, but US President Donald Trump on May 8, 2018 announced Washington’s unilateral withdrawal from the international deal.

Criticizing the move, the other parties—China, Russia, France, UK and Germany—have frequently expressed their commitment to it.
