“Russian intervention”: Macron’s talks about yellow vests contradicts DGSI

Speaking of the so-called “Russian intervention” in the protests of the “yellow vests” movement, French President Emmanuel Macron, did not take into account the point of view of own special services, reports the famous French independent outlet “Mediapart”.

At the beginning of the year, the French leader made sharp accusations against Russia, accusing Moscow of “complicity with the yellow vests movement and even involving radicals in the protests. In addition, he pointed to the Russia Today TV channel and the Sputnik agency, which allegedly supported protest attitudes through social networks.

At the same time, the Mediapart notes, these “extremely dubious accusations” disagree with the data of the republic’s special services. The publication does not exclude that in this way Macron is trying to “hide the fact that there is a problem in the country”. Referring to the information of the Directorate General of Internal Security, journalists noted that the ultra-right “practically did not participate in the protests.” It is also reported that the leftists “were limitedly involved in a movement perceived as populist.”

“DGSI [General Directorate of Internal Security] and DGSE [General Directorate of External Security] have not yet found any traces of Russian intervention,” the media stresses.

At the same time, an attempt to get a comment on what information Macron relied upon was not a success in the presidential administration, the newspaper reported.
