Seven reported shot at Gaza border protests

Seven protesters were reported injured after Israeli border forces opened fire on protesters in Shejaiya in Gaza Strip on Friday.

Israeli forces teargassed and opened fire on protesters, who in turn hurled rocks and stones.

Injured were later carried off by Red Crescent medics and other protesters.

A continuation of the Great March of Return, the Friday protest specifically condemned the memory of Balfour Declaration, a UK statement signed on November 2, 1917 calling for the formation of a “national home for Jewish people in Palestine.”

The Great March of Return, launched in late March, form a series of protests along the Israeli-Palestinian border to demand the right for Palestinians to return to their families’ pre-1948 homes.
