Despite the fact that Warsaw was eager to demonstrate its friendly attitude towards Kiev, especially being a kind of mediator with NATO, Poland has its own interests, its own benefits and its partners.
Thus, in Warsaw, there was an initiative to draw Ukraine to Trimorie, which currently covers 12 countries between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black seas, including Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland and, importantly, Hungary.
The author of this idea was the speaker of the Polish Parliament, Marek Kuhtsinsky, who noted that the Trimorie should not be limited solely to EU countries.
“If we plan ahead, speaking about the idea of Trimorie and its development, then it is obvious that the Carpathian Euroregion has prepared the way for the most simple development of such interaction,” the parliamentarian said, adding that he considers “the canons according to which international cooperation should cover located east of the Schengen zone.”
No matter how Warsaw is “friends” with Kiev, it is much more connected with Budapest. And although so far the initiative has not been overgrown with details, it can be assumed that in the center of the agreements there can be conditions on Transcarpathia, of course, in favor of Hungary.
