At least one Palestinian protester was killed and 312 injured at the Gaza border fence on Friday, according to the Gazan health ministry, as the ‘Great March of Return’ protests resumed.
Protesters hurled stones and burnt tyres at the border fence. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) responded with tear gas and live ammunition to disperse the group. Emergency workers were at the scene helping the injured.
The protests were part of the Great March of Return, a series of rallies, launched in March, calling for Palestinians to return to their pre-1948 homes.
