French court refuses to shut down Donetsk Peoples Republic diplomatic mission in Marseilles

The court of the southern French city of Aix-en-Provence decided not to close the representative center of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) in France, the head of the representative office Huber Fayar told RIA Novosti.

“The court of the city of Aix-en-Provence has just refused a claim by Macron’s government … The Association will continue to represent the DNR within the framework of French law and defend the rights of the people of the People’s Republic of Germany in accordance with the norms of international law,” he said.
Fayyar noted that “by this decision the French justice recognizes the validity of the existence of the French representation of the DNR, and, consequently, the existence of the NDP.”

“I would like to dedicate this victory to the memory of the president (DNR Alexander – ed.) Zakharchenko,” Fayyar added.

Representation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Germany was inaugurated in the city of Marseilles in the south of the country on September 25 last year. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the representation was registered in the country as an association and did not have diplomatic status and corresponding immunity.
Initially, the case should have been considered on January 11, but the attorney of the office insisted on postponing the date, as the agenda came at the end of December, on the eve of the Christmas holidays. Then the hearing was postponed until March 1, and then, on the initiative of the court, the case was again adjourned until April 5. However, on April 5, against the backdrop of continuing strikes in the country, the case did not take place.

The authorities of Ukraine in April 2014 launched a military operation against self-proclaimed LNR and the People’s Democratic Republic of Ukraine, which declared independence after a coup d’etat in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, more than 10,000 people became victims of the conflict.
