Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova and Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic held a meeting in Belgrade today. They talked about Russian-Serbian cooperation, as well as on the problems of Kosovo and Metohija.
“There is no country that would have done more for the Serbian interests than the Russian Federation,” the Serbian minister said. He also noted the historical closeness between the Russians and the Serbs and thanked Russia for respecting the Serbian integrity.
He reminded that this year Russia and Serbia celebrate the 180th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Answering journalists’ questions about Russia’s attitude to possible steps to settle the Kosovo issue, Zakharova said that Russia respects the decisions of Belgrade.
