A Palestinian woman was reportedly killed by Israeli fire near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday.
According to Palestinian Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra, the woman, identified as 21-year old Razan al-Najjar was shot in the chest. The woman was reportedly wearing the white uniform of a medic, as a volunteer with the health ministry.
The protests, known as the March of Return, were launched on March 30 to demand their right of return to their pre-1948 homes in historical Palestine.
Demonstrations along the Israel-Gaza border reached a peak on May 14, when at least sixty Palestinians were killed over the opening of the new US embassy in Jerusalem, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
