Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday spoke to Jordanian King Abdullah II and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad regarding the recent developments at the Israel-Gaza border.
A total of 61 Palestinian protesters have been killed by Israeli forces since Monday, according to a spokesman for the Palestinian Health Ministry, who put the number of injuries at some 2,770 for the same period.
Scores of Palestinians were killed while staging mass rallies along the border on Monday, which coincided with the 70th anniversary of Israel’s establishment — an event Palestinians remember as “The Catastrophe.”
Since the Gaza rallies kicked off on Mar. 30, more than 100 Palestinians have been killed – and thousands more injured – by intense cross-border gunfire by the Israeli army.
