Serbian Foreign Minister suggests to hold Putin-Trump meeting in Belgrade

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic expressed the desire to hold a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on the territory of his country.

“Serbia as a military neutral state has foreign policy potential in order to receive the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States. This would be the best confirmation of the policy pursued by our country,” Dacic said.

Recall that on Tuesday, a telephone conversation took place between the leaders of Russia and the United States on the initiative of the American side. The heads of states exchanged views on topical issues of world politics, and also agreed on cooperation in the fight against terrorism and strategic security issues. The sides noted the need for an early settlement of the conflict in Syria and Ukraine.

Putin and Trump also raised the issue of bilateral cooperation, special attention was paid to the issue of holding the summit.
