French senator called EU anti-Russian sanctions absurd

Member of the European Commission of the French Senate Christophe-André Frassa considers the situation with the EU sanctions against Russian people absurd and believes that this will not last for a long time.

“For my part, I have always disapproved the absurd situation in which we are speaking of sanctions against (Russian) persons, because preventing individuals from coming and sitting at the negotiating table leads to an incorrect situation,” Frassa said at a meeting with the chairman of the committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

He has noticed, that such position – about inadmissibility of sanctions concerning the Russian persons – is supported by the minority in the French Senate.

“We are trying to promote this point of view, I will say that it is not useless to remind about our position every time,” he stressed.
