Iran appealed to the United Nations with a complaint against the United States, accusing Washington of trying to interfere in the internal affairs of the country.
Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations Holamali Khoshroo sent letters to the UN Secretary General António Guterres and the leadership of the UN General Assembly.
“The US authorities, on the pretext of supporting protest actions, have increased the number of attempts to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs. The US president (Donald Trump) and the vice president of the United States (Mike Pence) have posted a large number of meaningless messages in the Twetter social network, encouraging the Iranians to take actions of disobedience,” the letter says.
According to the Iranian representative, the United States does not take into account the norms of international law and the UN principle and therefore the world community should condemn the statements of the Trump administration on Iran.
