In 2017, Croatia and Hungary illegally deported about 1,5 thousand migrants to Serbia. This was stated by the director of the Serbian Center for Protection and Assistance to Asylum seekers Rados Djurovic.
“Croatia and Hungary are deporting migrants to Serbia, trying to turn our country into a buffer zone. Croatia, for example, sends 30 people daily. In total in 2017 Hungary deported about 1 thousand migrants to Serbia, Croatia for the same period deported 500 people. The illegal deportation of migrants is not only a violation of international laws and regulations, but also a violation of EU laws and Schengen agreements,” Djurovic said.
Earlier, speaking at a meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in Vienna, Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, called on the OSCE to solve the problem of migrants “with all possible measures”.
