European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker rejected media-fueled claims in a speech on Monday that UK Prime Minister Theresa May had begged for his help at a recent dinner meeting.
During a speech to the Institute of Political Studies in Strasbourg, France, Juncker briskly denied media rumours of a May begging for his assistance, stating that he found May “in good shape” and that she was “doing her duty,” before underlining the importance of reaching an understanding with “our UK friends.”
