Kiev forces on Thursday shelled Krasniy Yar neighbourhood in suburban Lugansk with mortars setting a house on fire, LPR People’s Militia spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko said.
“Early in the morning, at 5:50 a.m., Krasniy Yar neighbourhood came under fire. Ukrainian forces used 82mm mortars, hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, large calibre machine guns and small arms,” Marochko said.
“As a result of the shelling, a house burnt down to ashes in Samoilovoy Street; firefighters are still extinguishing the remaining flames. Several other houses in the same street and in Mariupolskaya Street sustained damage; there were no casualties,” the spokesman said.
“Despite the decrease in number of strikes by Kiev forces they are continuing to purposefully destroy LPR population,” he said.
