The Minister for Human Resources of Hungary, Zoltan Balog, announced plans of Budapest to appeal against the decision of the EU court related to quotas for resettlement of refugees.
He stated this in an interview with the radio station Deutschlandfunk. In his opinion, the verdict that the EU Court has passed against Hungary and Slovakia is “politically motivated”.
“We will struggle with this decision by legal means as long as they have us, because we consider this decision politically motivated and irresponsible,” the minister said.
The EU Court on September 6 rejected the lawsuit of Hungary and Slovakia, in which the states challenged the decision of September 22, 2015, which obliges EU members to accept 120,000 refugees arriving in Greece and Italy.
Earlier, the Polish Foreign Ministry announced a refusal to comply with the EU judicial decision on the resettlement of refugees.
