There were seven civilians in western Donetsk and the Yasinovataya outskirts who were wounded in shelling by Ukrainian forces over the past 24 hours, a DNR law-enforcement source told News Front on Wednesday.
“Five people were wounded in Krutaya Balka village, Yasinovatskiy district, and another two in Donetsk’s Staromikhailovka and Trudovskiye neighbourhoods,” the law-enforcement official said.
On the 4th of June in the evening, a woman was killed and a child was seriously wounded by the Kiev forces’ shelling of Petrovskiy district of Donetsk. Early reports from today said a man was injured in the area in overnight shelling.
Kiev backed Ukrainian armed forces shelled western Donetsk outskirts the previous evening and during the night, local authorities announced.
“Yesterday at 2100 hours, Petrovskiy district came under fire yet again in Donetsk. A roof was damaged on Karnavalnaya street, in the village known as Trudovskaya mine. A gas pipe was damaged on Lugovskogo street,” Petrovskiy district authorities said. A gas fire started as the pipeline was damaged, it has been extinguished.
Aleksandrovka township came under heavy machine gun fire.
“They fired with heavy machine guns, with explosive bullets. Walls were damaged and windows shattered in a house and household building on Gorkogo street. An elderly woman who was inside one of the homes, was very frightened, but luckily, she is safe,” Aleksandrovka authorities reported .
This week, western outskirts of Donetsk have often come under Ukrainian forces fire. On June the 4th a woman was killed and her eight-year-old son seriously injured, the boy is still in the hospital in critical condition.
Ukrainian forces keep reinforcing their positions along the line of contact, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin.
“Our intelligence records reinforcement of Kiev forces positions in the vicinity of the contact line. In Semigorye (7km from the contact line, along the Gorlovka axis) area, two 122mm Gvozdika howitzers were located. In Maryinka (1km from the contact line, west of Donetsk) and two tanks were spotted.”
Semigorye is situated outside Kiev-controlled Svetlodarsk; Golmovskiy township and Debaltsevo area are within the firing range.
Basurin said that locals of Maryinka report women snipers of Georgian origin arriving in the town. Donetsk axis has lately been the most contested area. The enemy fired 51 artillery rounds, 220 mortar rounds of 120mm and 82mm caliber and 45 tank gun artillery rounds.

At 0620 hours by Kiev backed forces known as batallions Novotoshkovskoye and crimean, the enemy fired artillery at villages Kirovsk, Philtrum and Donetsk, using 152 and 122 mm artillery, BMP-1 AND BMP-2 armoured vehicles. 27 houses were damaged or destroyed. There were residents injured in Kirovsk.
At 0910 hours, the enemy, attacked with a force of up to two platoons, went on the offensive towards Philtrum, using mortars and small arms. In the area of wolf, with the support of 120 and 82 mm mortars, the enemy launched using the terrain, and currently is firing from pc, automatic grenade launchers, and recoiless rifle rounds on zhelobku.
