The French Senate will vote on a resolution on the easing of anti-Russia sanctions on June 8, one of its authors, Senator Yves Pozzo di Borgo, said Friday.
“We are asking to limit sanctions against Russia. We think that it is impossible to move forward within the logic of sanctions,” the lawmaker said.
He added that the bill was met with almost unanimous support in the Senate committee for European Affairs on Thursday.
Earlier in April, the National Assembly, France’s lower house of parliament, supported a resolution calling to lift the sanctions imposed on Russia.
