Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday all armed factions that are working with ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra are terrorist groups and could not be part of the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria.
In a joint press conference with his Ethiopian counterpart, Lavrov noted that the US promised to sort out members of the so-called “moderate opposition” and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Aleppo but hasn’t done so.
Lavrov stressed that the intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva will continue in spite of the suspended participation of some opposition groups.
