Thousands of Syrians could die of starvation in besieged towns

Thousands of people in Syrians may have died of starvation, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al-Hussein, said.

“The deliberate starvation of people is unequivocally forbidden as a weapon of warfare, so are sieges,” Interfax cited him as saying.

The High Commissioner added that “thousands of people may have starved to death” in besieged Syrian cities.
