The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for twin terrorist attacks on Sunday in the southern suburb of Syria’s capital Damascus, the Al Jazeera TV channel has reported.
Two explosions went off in the Sayyida Zeinab suburb on Sunday morning. According to preliminary reports, at least 12 people have died and dozens of others have been injured.

At least eight people were killed Sunday in a double bomb blast near the Shiite shrine of Sayyida Zeinab, south of the Syrian capital Damascus, a monitor said.
Another 15 people were wounded in the blasts, one of which was caused by a car bomb, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said.
