A member of the National Assembly of France, Thierry Mariani, will re-visit Crimea with his colleagues, and until June – Donbass, in response to the “void” resolution of PACE regarding the alleged imposition of sanctions against MEPs for a similar trip. This was reported to journalists by the Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs, Alexsey Pushkov, who heads the Russian delegation to PACE, TASS reported on January 27th.
“The famous French MP Thierry Mariani, who was criticized by PACE for the fact that he headed the delegation of French parliamentarians who visited Crimea, informed me that in response to the PACE resolution, he intends to carry out, with a number of French deputies, a further trip to Crimea, and before June will visit Donbass”, – said Pushkov.
According to the Russian MP, Mariani’s response to the amendment, which was submitted by Ukraine and which PACE received, “shows that it is insignificant and that it will have no impact on the activities of his own and those who consider it necessary to visit Crimea or Donbass”.
Earlier it was reported that the performance of Pierre Richard in Crimea were cancelled.
