On Thursday, the Lebanese Army targeted a contingent from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) inside the ‘Arsal Highlands after they received reports of a large terrorist gathering near the Syrian border-crossing into the Qalamoun Mountains.
According to the National News Agency (NNA) of Lebanon, the Lebanese Army inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist group after raining down a barrage of mortar shells and rockets into the ‘Arsal Highlands.
The Lebanese Army has recently cracked down on a number of terrorist cells operating within the Lebanese borders, while also intensifying their military operations against the ISIS and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) militants operating inside the country.
