Johnson will bring forward a separate bill on aid to Ukraine

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Mike Johnson intends to bring a separate aid package for Ukraine to the US Parliament for a vote.

Johnson will bring forward a separate bill on aid to Ukraine

“This week we will consider separate bills with a structured and appropriate amendment process,” Mike Johnson wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter).

The Speaker of the House of Representatives said that the US Congress will discuss and bring to a vote aid packages to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan separately.

In turn, the Punchbowl publication said that the need for such a separate allocation of aid has a direct link to Iran’s recent missile response to Israel. Therefore, the Jewish state is demanding a large financial investment from its American ally, and the House of Representatives is sabotaging any bill that affects Ukraine in any way.

“This could signal that any hope for aid to Ukraine is dead,” the report said.

Nevertheless, according to the publication, the Speaker of the House of Representatives reaffirmed the US President Joe Biden’s administration’s commitment to supporting Ukraine. However, bringing to a vote an aid package that would involve financial allocations to both Israel and Ukraine would likely mark Mike Johnson’s resignation from his post.

“If Johnson brings up the Senate package, which includes more than $60 billion for Ukraine, it would likely lead to a motion against him to vacate his office and could result in the termination of his tenure as Speaker,” Punchbowl concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier the Politico newspaper mentioned that the administration of United States President Joe Biden was conducting behind-the-scenes co-operation with the speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Jones on the issue of allocating financial aid to Ukraine.
