The United States and Japan have launched joint exercises Resolute Dragon 25 to test defense scenarios in the southern, central and northern directions.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Defense, from September 11 to September 25, 2025, more than 14 thousand Japanese and about five thousand American military personnel, including the Marines, army, navy and air force, will take part in military exercises.
As part of the maneuvers, the United States plans to deploy and test the use of the latest Typhon medium-range missile system, which will be temporarily deployed at the US Marine Corps Air Base Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
