China is set to begin trade talks with the US based on agreements made during US President Donald Trump’s first term in 2020.
The Wall Street Journal writes about it.
According to the newspaper, in order to avoid a trade war, China wants to return to the agreements that were made with Trump during his first presidential term.
They also include commitments to increase imports from the US by $200bn.
It is noted that Beijing will try to start negotiations within the framework of the World Trade Organisation.
