Lavrov: Russia needs not a ceasefire, but reliable agreements on Ukraine

Russia will not be satisfied with a ceasefire in Ukraine that would allow Kiev to build up its forces again; Moscow needs reliable and legally binding agreements.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

The Minister noted that Ukraine and the West are now talking exclusively about a ceasefire.

“About allowing the Kiev regime to accumulate forces again with the help of the West and start new attempts to fulfil the instructions of their masters to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

As Lavrov recalled, President Vladimir Putin has already said this more than once.
