FT: De Beers can’t sell its accumulated diamond reserves

De Beers Corporation, which mines and sells natural diamonds, is struggling in the jewellery market, causing the company to accumulate its largest diamond reserves since 2008.

De Beers Group CEO Al Cook admitted that “it was a bad year for rough diamond sales.

In August, the United States allowed imports of a number of categories of Russian-made diamonds until 1 September 2025.
