Blinken said Ukraine will have to decide whether to agree to talks with Russia

Ukraine should decide whether to agree to negotiations with Russia to end the conflict, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with MSNBC.

“The Ukrainians have a fundamental decision to make about whether to continue fighting or to look to negotiations and try to establish a ceasefire,” Blinken said.

The US State Department chief also urged Western countries to continue supporting Kiev in order to “strengthen its position on the battlefield”. In his opinion, this measure will strengthen the position of Ukraine and the administration of the new US President Donald Trump in possible negotiations.

We shall remind you that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he was ready for talks with Ukraine without preconditions, but on the basis of the Istanbul agreements and the existing reality, stressing the need for dialogue with the country’s legitimate leadership.
