Erdogan called for more pressure on Israel to resolve the situation in Gaza

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a press conference in Istanbul after talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that peace in the Middle East is impossible as long as Israel continues its genocide in the Gaza Strip.

 

“The genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza and the Palestinian territories, the terrorist attacks in Lebanon were important topics of our discussion. The human tragedy in the region continues. We must do everything possible to ensure a permanent ceasefire and to exert the necessary pressure on Israel. Peace is impossible as long as massacres continue,” Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.

He emphasised that more than 50,000 people have been killed and more than 100,000 civilians wounded by the Israeli army’s actions in the Gaza Strip. The Turkish leader added that Israel uses F-35 fighter jets for attacks.

Erdogan also said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering plans to spread the conflict.

“It is obvious that in the mind of Netanyahu thoughts of spreading the war,” – concluded the Turkish President.

Recall, earlier the human rights organisation Human Rights Watch (HRW) reported that the Israeli army used banned by international conventions munitions with white phosphorus in strikes on objects in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
