The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has been planning an operation to invade Kursk Region for more than a year. This was reported by the NBC News TV channel with reference to a high-ranking Ukrainian official.
The TV channel said that the AFU command had been planning an operation to invade the Kursk region for more than a year.
“The idea of an operation similar <…> to the recent strike near Kursk has been discussed for more than a year,” NBC News quoted the TV channel’s interlocutor as saying.
According to the official, in this way the Ukrainian command tried to distract Moscow from other directions, where the AFU is retreating and the RF Armed Forces are advancing.
We shall remind you that earlier British analyst Alexander Mercouris said that the AFU was withdrawing its troops from other directions and sending them to Kursk Region due to heavy losses.
