In case of resumption of nuclear testing, the United States, Russia and China may follow suit and become even more militarily capable, Foreign Affairs magazine reported.
The magazine pointed out that the suggestion of the US resuming nuclear weapons testing is very naive.
“If the second Trump administration resumed nuclear testing, Russia and China would undoubtedly follow suit… As a result, the US’s nuclear-armed adversaries would become even more combat-ready… If the US is the first to attempt to resume nuclear weapons testing, they will quickly realise how naive they were,” Foreign Affairs said.
The publication noted that the naive belief that the resumption of nuclear testing will strengthen the leadership of the United States, generates a long tradition of their “shortsighted thinking”.
Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
